Performance under pressure

"The moment we compared notes, it was obvious: we needed to make this a reality."

LINKING TWO WORLDS

When the CeramicSpeed team came from Denmark to our HQ in Hamburg for the first time, we clicked immediately. Even though we come from different worlds, we share the same DNA - precision, an understanding of design and a passion for performance when it really counts.
All of us are driven by the relentless cycle of testing, tweaking, and testing again to deliver the best possible results. And not just on any given Sunday, but when the pressure is really on (literallly). This mutual understanding laid the foundation for this collaboration.

WHY COLLABORATE

"The moment we compared notes, it was obvious: we needed to make this a reality."

When you’re equipping the world’s fastest riders at the toughest races, there’s no margin for error. Yet speed isn’t only about what happens on the bike. Teams and staff need to be just as nimble. A race can stretch across mountains, through storms, under blazing sun, which meansthe people behind the riders must be ready for anything.

In these situations, shelter becomes more than comfort; it’s protection and the ability to keep moving - from one stage to the next, from one mountain pass to another. A shelter is needed that sets up in minutes, withstands the elements, and packs down small enough to fly with.
In pursuit of a solution, CeramicSpeed reached out to us. That’s where this collaboration between CeramicSpeed and HEIMPLANET began. On our side, the drive to collaborate was equally strong. Just like with professional expeditioners, we recognised that CeramicSpeed brings together a rare concentration of experts. At HEIMPLANET, the insights of fellow innovators are always welcomed, and partnering with a team of such exacting standards promised to be a creative exchange that could elevate everyone’s game.

The result

The outcome of this collaboration is a custom CeramicSpeed Edition of our Cloudbreak tent - one of HEIMPLANET’s largest and most shelters. The original Cloudbreak was created to address a challenge familiar to seasoned overlanders: the constant compromise between solidity and freedom of movement. Large tents often demand long setup times, effectively tying you to one location. Cloudbreak changes that - its inflatable frame allows it to be pitched and taken down within minutes. With families and groups in mind, the inner layout features a separated sleeping cabin and a designated living area.

With a few thoughtful tweaks and design changes, we knew this tent could be adapted to make a real-world impact on how CeramicSpeed moves, travels, and supports its athletes. Together, we reimagined the concept: instead of dividing the space, we removed all barriers. No inner tent, no fixed layout - just a single, open, multifunctional interior. A basecamp that is strong, adaptable, and ready to meet the shifting demands of life on the road.

The tent in action

For CeramicSpeed, the tent has already become a game-changer. At races and events, it acts as a quick pit stop, a mobile base camp, and a place of shelter for the staff supporting riders at full speed. It is a workshop, supply station, and resting area in one.

Quick setup & take down to move fluidly from one stage to the next.

Protection from rain, sun, and wind ensures their team is always ready to perform.

Compact pack size even allows them to fly to events that once required days of driving.

Easy repairability and built-in emergency stability mean more focus on the race-action.

Designed for repetition.

LAND.

Lay out.

Launch.

What happens next

The honest answer - we don't know yet. What we do know is that our mutual admiration sparked a friendship and a shared curiosity, one that will continue to explore the intersection of cycling and camping in new and unexpected ways.

Multi-day races with HEIMPLANET basecamps strategically positioned along the route?
New, race-oriented tent models, further improved to aid riders in the field?
A dual-purpose pump for bikes and tents? Who knows.

The only certainty is that wherever we go from here, it will be guided by the same ethos that brought us together: design, performance and innovation when it matters most.
