DYECOSHELL™

Our main fabric - called DYECOSHELL™ - is a dope-dyed nylon yarn construction with excellent abrasion resistance and color fastness. LOAD-LIFTERS

Loadlifters help distribute the weight of the backpack more evenly across the body. If a backpack is not adjusted properly and the weight is not distributed well, this can lead to uncomfortable pressure on the shoulders and back. Loadlifters are located on the shoulder straps and can also be conveniently adjusted while the pack is being worn. This brings the weight of the pack closer to the body's center of gravity and keeps the wearer's center of gravity more stable, resulting in an overall more comfortable carrying experience. Loadlifters are especially useful when carrying heavy loads over long distances.

SIDE ACCESS / LAPTOP COMPARTMENT

Via a side zipper that runs the entire length of the backpack, you can easily take out your laptop without having to open the main compartment of the backpack. It also provides an alternative access point to the main volume. Especially when fully loaded, the side access is practical, because you can still quickly and easily get to everything important.

INSIDE ROOM

If you open the Daypack completely shows the main compartment on the right side including 15 inch laptop compartment and several stretch pockets. These are ideal for storing a notebook, pens or a charging cable. The laptop compartment and stretch pockets can best be filled via the side access. On the left side is a view-protected compartment and large mesh pocket. For even more organization in the interior, our Carry Essential Pack Cubes and Dopp Kit Better Half are particularly suitable for the Daypack .

OUTER POCKETS

On the outside of the daypack are two zippered pockets. The smaller pocket on the side of the backpack is good for small items that need to be quickly at hand, such as keys or the cell phone charging cable. Another larger pocket is located on the front of the backpack.

GURTE

On the front of the backpack are Hyperlon attachment points for the Transit Line Compression / Carry Straps. Additional comfort and support can be provided with the Carry Essentials Sternum Strap & Hip Belt. All straps are sold separately.

CLAMSHELL OPENING

The DAYPACK opens fully when laid flat thanks to its clamshell opening. This is the perfect way to easily pack everything without having to stuff the backpack from the top.

Jack-of-all-trades with very high build quality

I have used this backpack both as travel companion on flights (worked fine as cabin luggage), as well as for weekend trips by train. It is currently my daily carry for work commutes.The backpack sits comfortably on my slender 1.80 m body, and sports a modern, somewhat understated design. Some might say boring, but to me, this is ideal, as I need it to work in both casual and professional settings. It has gotten me some positive comments.The build quality is exceptional, both outside and inside. No unclean seams, no zipper that occasionally annoys you by getting caught in a stray thread, nothing is too loose or too tight. I sometimes carry expensive things through bad weather, and my trust in the protection has not been betrayed.The outside of the backpack has ample opportunities to attach stuff to it. The inside is mostly one big compartment, one laptop compartment, and a few smaller pouches for pens, smartphone, cables, and such. I have used the laptop compartment for two laptops occasionally (16 and 14 inches), and it worked out squeezing both in. Furthermore, there are some smaller outside pouches that fit a passport or similarly-sized items.The "distinct feature" of this backpack is that the notebook and main compartment can be accessed both via the front opening, as well as via a side zipper. I originally thought this was gimmicky, but I found it useful in some situations. E.g. you could grab your notebook or tablet without having to dig through the main compartment.Note that this is a jack-of-all-trades backpack - it is not great for travelling (too small), and not great for daily commute (not enough compartments/organization options), but it is pretty competent at both. I wanted one backpack that performs well in all situations, so I am happy with this. You might not be.What I have missed occasionally is a good way to store one larger, flat item in addition to the laptop. Think tablet or handwritten notebook (good pen storage is included).
