But we've found ways to make it even stronger. For years, people who use these tents for purposes far beyond ordinary camping have relied on the Mavericks: professional adventurers, researchers, mountain rescue teams, and expedition teams.

REAL-WORLD FEEDBACK

In recent years, we’ve gained valuable insights from astrobiologist Dale Andersen, who put the Mavericks through Earth’s harshest conditions during his Antarctic expeditions. His real-world experience gave us something no lab test can replace: years of feedback from a tent that was pushed to its limits time and time again.

We listened and refined the details.

UPGRADES

The new Mavericks incorporates several small design improvements that, when combined, make a significant difference in strength, durability, and performance.

The upgrades in detail:

New material

Flysheet with C0 Sil/PU5000 (PFAS-free) is significantly more tear-resistant and durable than before.

New roof construction

Mounting the center of the roof to the frame. For better water drainage and to reduce snow load.

Improved Ventilation

Revision of the ventilation openings for improved performance in heavy rain and wind without sacrificing function.

Fewer seams & fabrics

Thinner seams for (1) more even processing and (2) more durable seam taping and mean a long-lasting construction of the outer tent. Also use of stronger tape.
