MISSION RAIN TEST

Sometimes it's the adventure itself that makes a weekend unforgettable - and that was exactly the case when Lukas Bigler and his friend Nico tested the Heimplanet Kirra tent in the Uri Alps. With changeable autumn weather and an uncertain forecast, the two were not about to cancel their hike to Griessseeli. On the contrary: it was the perfect opportunity to put the Kirra tent through its paces in one of the most impressive, but also most challenging environments.

Day 1 // arrival

The forecast was for rain, but Lukas and Nico were not deterred. On Saturday afternoon, they set off on a 40-minute hike through the autumn twilight across the lateral moraine of the glacier. When they arrived at their destination, they discovered a small island on the edge of the Griessseeli - just the right place to set up their tent and spend the night in the wilderness.

Despite the onset of rain, the Kirra tent could be set up easily within a few minutes thanks to its inflatable construction and a small pump. The tent was soon up and ready to protect them for the night. Due to the heavy rain, Lukas and Nico were drawn into their sleeping bags early - with the hope of being woken up the next morning by an epic sunrise over the glacial lake.

Day 2 // Let's go

The rain accompanied them throughout the night. But the Kirra tent held out: although it was fresh, everything inside remained pleasantly dry and the robust material more than stood up to the conditions.

Instead of a sunrise, however, Lukas and Nico were greeted by mystical scenery: the sky was covered in low-hanging clouds, which combined with the snow-covered peaks and the blue glacial lake provided an epic backdrop. The silence and the atmosphere were unique - the Kirra tent stood in the middle of this rugged, wild landscape and blended in perfectly with the surroundings.

After a few photos of the scenery and the tent, the two friends made their way home, satisfied. The weather had not been ideal, but that had made the trip a real test for the Kirra. And the tent had done its job: it withstood rain and wet conditions effortlessly and offered the two of them the protection and comfort they were looking for in an adventure tent.
